knysna extreme triathlon
The Knysna Extreme Triathlon is a challenging Point-To-Point race that takes place along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route. The course starts with a 4km swim in the Knysna Estuary, followed by a 170km cycle and a 50km run through coastal, mountain, semi-desert and forest scenery. It is a gruelling, yet scenic route that takes triathletes back to the basics of the sport.
Each athlete is required to have a supporter to follow them throughout the race, providing all mechanical, nutritional and mental support. This, along with a total altitude gain of nearly 3,500m, makes it an extreme triathlon that is an exciting challenge for both athletes and their supporters. Planning, communication and enthusiasm are key pillars to success!
